YHTL Weekly Highlights – 1 to 7 Apr 2017

So I’m in Cyprus at the moment, no doubt having a super lovely time chasing our little one around the complex and hoping he doesn’t escape / fall off tall things / fall in the pool. When I say ‘at the moment’ I don’t literally mean as I’m typing – as much as I love this website I don’t love it enough to be typing this shite whilst siting by the pool sipping my 12th Strawberry Dacquiri. Hence why I’m writing this at 1am on Friday morning – as you do!

Given all of the posts for the rest of this week and all of next week are ready-to-go and happily scheduled because I don’t trust Fran to remember to do it all when I’m away we’re always super-organised like that I can happily look back on the week just gone, even though strictly speaking it hasn’t actually gone yet. It’s all an incredible illusion, like David Blaine sitting in that perspex box over the Thames a few years ago. Although to be fair that wasn’t an incredible illusion – it was just bollocks a man sitting in a box for no apparent reason.

To the matter in hand. Let’s start with:

Monday

The week started in great form with an interview with Teeny Tiny Toddlers, as part of our not-quite-yet award winning comedy interview series, So You Think You’re Funny? It was another good one and you can dive in to the pool of mirth by clicking the image below.

Whilst we’re on the subject of comedy interviews, if you haven’t yet been ‘done’, so to speak, we’d love to hear from you as we’re running out of interviewees now taking bookings into the week after next July and beyond. Just drop us a line and we’ll hook you up with the questions.

Tuesday

Today saw a couple of new things from us. First up was a fairly amusing post about matched betting and how in our case it has worked pretty well. If you fancy finding out a bit more about it, have a clunk and a click below and see what you think.

We also launched the really rather awesome #youhavetolaugh tag. It’s based around comedy and parenting, as you may be surprised to hear, and is pretty fun and easy to take part in. The rules are pretty straightforward and there’s even a question about squirrels – seriously, what’s NOT to love. If you want to take part all of the details are within the link below. You can also click the link to find out who has already taken part and read their awesome answers.

Tuesday also saw this stroke of genius and demonstrated that it’s perfectly natural to spend your evenings posing Paw Patrol figurines for the purpose of comedy. Perfectly. Natural.

Wednesday

Today we returned to normal with a featured post about the comical joys of the school run from the very funny Thimble & Twig. It’s been a really popular read so far, so if you want to add to the page views and share your own school run traumas just click below!

Thursday

Today saw our weekly attempt at asking funny questions and getting funny answers through the legendary #YHTLchat. Here’s the question and some of the answers we’ve had so far (As at 1am on Friday!):

Erica from The Incidental Parent also put together a really rather amusing review of the Gousto Recipe Box, which was actually pretty balanced and not just 110% positive like you may see in some reviews of things! Have a read to see if the concept floats your boat!

An Incidental Review of Gousto: A Recipe For Good (or Disaster?)

Friday

Today saw a featured post from Pass The Prosecco… Please about the fascination small people have with sticking things up their bums. Not sure how else I could describe that one! Have a read and it’ll all make more sense I’m sure!

Saturday

Last but by no means least for this week we had a featured post about poo from Mama Grace at Bards For Babes! Fortunately it was done through the medium of poetry, so it was a lot more pleasant than it sounds!

Next week we’ve got posts coming out of our ears. I’m sure you will enjoy them lots, but do spare a thought for me as I sit by the pool drinking cocktails. It’s a tough life but someone’s got to do it…

For the avoidance of doubt, that someone is me. Me. Me. Me. Me. Me.

We're very needy! Please share, follow or like us:
